ⓘ Data source note: Clan count (stat card) is from the Margibi County Development Agenda (CDA), the official administrative record. Individual district clan breakdowns in the District Profiles below are from the 2022 LISGIS Enumeration Survey (field census). Totals may differ due to different administrative and field definitions. Towns/Villages figure is from the 2022 LISGIS Enumeration Survey. Note: Farmington District is absent from the enumeration dataset as a standalone entry; its communities were likely enumerated within the Kakata or Kabah district entries. All 4 enumerated districts, Kakata, Firestone (Kabah), Mambah Kaba and Gibi, are present in the survey. The survey's "Firestone" entry corresponds to the Kabah Administrative District. Both sources are cited for transparency.
For the full county profile, including year of establishment, capital, area, borders, and complete county overview, see the Margibi County page. Margibi is home to Roberts International Airport (RIA), Liberia's only international airport, and the Firestone Natural Rubber Company, the world's largest contiguous rubber plantation.

5 Largest Towns:
Kakata District is predominantly Bassa and Kpelle, the two dominant ethnic groups of Margibi County. Kakata City had a 2008 census population of 33,945 and has grown substantially since. The Booker T. Washington Institute (BWI), founded in 1929, is one of Liberia's most prestigious vocational schools providing technical education across agriculture, carpentry, electronics and auto mechanics. The NEC ED 4 boundary places Kakata City wards (One, Two, Three, Five) and surrounding communities (Benla, Jambo, Sugar Hill, World Bank, Gbandi, Lango) within the district.
The second most populous district, home to Harbel, the company town of the Firestone Natural Rubber Company, the world's largest contiguous rubber plantation (est. 1926, ~480 km²). Roberts International Airport (RIA), Liberia's only international airport, is also located within this district. Slight female majority: 50.4% female / 49.6% male. Covered by Electoral District 3. In the enumeration survey this district is listed as "Firestone", reflecting the plantation's role as the defining settlement unit.

The survey records the Firestone plantation as a single district entry ("Firestone") composed of numbered division camps, Harbel town, and the Cotton Tree community. Note: Male column values in the survey are inverted at aggregate; the raw file column arrangement places Male and Female in reverse for this sheet; figures are presented as corrected. Official LISGIS district total: 73,682.
5 Largest Settlements:
Firestone's Harbel plantation has been the economic centrepiece of Margibi County since 1926. The 1926 Firestone Plantation Agreement granted the company a 99-year lease on up to one million acres at $0.06 per acre, one of the most debated commercial agreements in Liberian history. Roberts International Airport (RIA), built by the U.S. during World War II as Roberts Field, serves as Liberia's gateway to the world. The SDA University and Harbel Multilateral High School are major educational institutions in the district.
Named after the Farmington River, one of Margibi County's principal waterways. The only district in Margibi with a clear male majority: 50.7% male / 49.3% female. Located in the northern part of the county bordering Bong County. Covered by Electoral District 5. Note: Farmington District is absent from the 2022 LISGIS Enumeration Survey as a standalone entry; its communities may have been enumerated within the Kakata district entry or captured across multiple adjacent survey units.
Also written Mambah-Kaba or Mamabah-Kaba. Located in the southwestern part of Margibi County. Home to Marshall City, a significant coastal settlement at the mouth of the Farmington River. Near exact gender parity: 50.0% male / 50.0% female. Split between Electoral District 1 (Marshall City and 8 communities) and ED 2 (4 communities including Cotton Tree, Dolo Town, Unification, Central Charlesville).

5 Largest Towns:
Marshall City (or Marshalltown) is a coastal settlement historically linked to Liberia's fishing and Atlantic trade. The Marshall Territory was one of the two original components (with Gibi Territory) that merged to create Margibi County in 1985. Mambah-Kaba's split across ED 1 and ED 2 reflects the community-level NEC boundary configuration. The district's 9-clan structure, the most of any Margibi district, reflects the diversity of coastal and inland communities in the southwestern zone.
The smallest administrative district and one of Margibi County's two name-origins: Gibi was the former territory merged with Marshall Territory in 1985 to form the county. Home to Gibi Mountain. Male majority: 51.0% male / 49.0% female. Located in the eastern part of the county bordering Grand Bassa County.

5 Largest Towns:
Gibi District takes its name from the former Gibi Territory, the eastern component of Margibi County's 1985 formation alongside Marshall Territory. Gibi Mountain is one of the county's noted geographical features. The district's position on the Grand Bassa County border reflects the transitional zone between Margibi's Kpelle-Bassa interior and Grand Bassa's predominantly Bassa territory. Gibi is the least densely populated of Margibi's five administrative units, with settlement characterised by small villages spread across 258 enumerated localities.
Administrative Districts vs. Electoral Districts
Margibi operates two distinct district structures. Administrative Districts are used for governance and public administration; Electoral Districts are used for legislative representation. They do not share identical boundaries; Mambah Kaba District is split across two electoral districts. See also: District Types and District Leadership.
Headed by District Commissioners appointed by the President. Margibi has 4 Chiefdoms and 17 Clans. Mambah Kaba District is split across two electoral districts (ED 1 and ED 2).
Each elects one Representative to the House of Representatives. Total: 185,301 registered voters (NEC, July 2023). ED 1 (62,849) is the largest single electorate in this series. For full voter data, see the Margibi County electoral section.
The full Registered Voter Population Overview by Electoral District (NEC, July 2023), including male/female split and Representatives (Roland O. Cooper ED 1; Ivar K. Jones ED 2; Ellen Amarkai Attoh-Wreh ED 3; Emmanuel Yarh ED 4; Clarence G. Gahr ED 5) is presented on the Margibi County page, Electoral section.
