Bong County
Established in 1964 under President Tubman’s Unification policy from the former Central Province, Bong County is one of Liberia’s 15 counties, situated in the north-central region with its capital in Gbarnga. Bong takes its name from Mount Bong, the prominent highland feature in the county’s southern corridor.
With a population of 467,561 per the 2022 LISGIS Census, Bong is Liberia’s third most populous county; organised into 12 Administrative Districts, 7 Electoral Districts, 14 Chiefdoms and 42 Clans.
