Sinoe Administrative Districts

Sinoe County has 20 administrative districts — Bar-Nakay, Bodae, Bokon, Butaw, Greenville, Jaedae, Jaedepo, Jlah, Juarzon, Kpayan, Krah, Kulu, Plahn, Pynes Town, Sanquin District 1, Sanquin District 2, Sanquin District 3, Sarboh, Seekon and Wedjah.

Administrative districts are the primary units of local governance and development administration, each headed by a District Commissioner appointed by the President of Liberia. They are distinct from Electoral Districts, which are used for legislative representation. See more on District Types and District Leadership.

This dataset and district profile provides detailed information on population distribution, governance structure, electoral districts, natural resources, demographics, historical development, and district-level analysis for one of Liberia’s most historically significant counties. See the table below.

ⓘ Data note (district row totals vs. stated county total): The 20 individual district rows in the LISGIS 2022 table sum to 133,671 (M: 70,255 / F: 63,416), while the table footer states the county total as 151,149 (M: 79,362 / F: 71,787). The difference of 17,478 is not accounted for by the published district-level rows and may reflect an unpublished sub-district population component, rounding differences across enumeration areas, or a data entry gap at source. The individual district figures are used as published; the stated county total of 151,149 is the authoritative LISGIS figure and is used in the county-level statistics throughout this page. Note also: the district named Kran in the table is referred to as Krah in the county introduction — both names refer to the same district.
