Margibi Administrative Districts
Margibi County has 5 administrative districts — Kakata, Kabah Administrative, Farmington, Mambah Kaba and Gibi —
Administrative districts are the primary units of local governance and development administration, each headed by a District Commissioner appointed by the President of Liberia. They are distinct from Electoral Districts, which are used for legislative representation. See more on District Types and District Leadership..
This dataset and district profile provides detailed information on population distribution, governance structure, electoral districts, natural resources, demographics, historical development, and district-level analysis for one of Liberia’s most historically significant counties. See the table below.
ⓘ Data note: The `LISGIS 2022 data source, Table B5, page 85 lists Gounwolaila district as part of Margibi County,(M: 9,513 / F: 8,473 / T: 17,986). However, arithmetic verification confirms this is a data placement error from LISGIS: the 5 districts above sum precisely to the official county total of 304,946 (M: 152,699 + F: 152,247 ✓). Adding Gounwolaila would give 322,932 — which does not match any source. Gounwolaila is confirmed in LISGIS 2022 Table B2 as a district of Gbarpolu County. This page presents the 5 arithmetically verified Margibi districts. See Gounwolaila profiled in Gbarpolu Administrative Districts.
